May 1  Cross Country Schooling Day
Prepare for the 2010 eventing season.  Jumps include an aiken, snake fence, banks, ditches, brush jumps, coops, cord wood, logs and timber fences. Trainers can call Susan at (860) 928-3647 to schedule a block of time for their students.  More Information

May 22 Cross Country Clinic with Ann Hanscom

Ann began her riding career at Fox Lea Farm in Rehoboth. She was a member of the Greene River Pony Club, Loudon Hunt Pony Club, and was part of a team at the National Rally in 1959. She has trained with Karl Mikolka and Mike Plumb and operated her own training and competition barn in Rehoboth. Ann's specialty is working with green horses and riders and giving them the confidence needed to jump. This comprehensive clinic focuses on the skills needed to jump successfully both in the ring and in the open. Classes are limited, so sign up early.  More Information

June 5  Judged Pleasure Ride Series
Ride through the scenic countryside and be judged on your horse's manners and suitability as you encounter four judged obstacles. The courses range from six to ten miles long. A boxed lunch is included in the entry fee. More Information 

June 19 Cross Country Clinic with Pat Garthwaite Towle
 
 

Pat has owned, operated, and trained out of Tatra Farm with Pavel Blaho,  for 26 years. She rode as a junior in the Medal and Maclay Equitation classes with Hugh Kerrigan. After graduating from Centenary College, Pat trained as a young adult with Olympian dressage rider Edith Master and competed at the FEI level. Pat served as a faculty member of the Kent School, teaching in the riding department. Under Pavel's guidance, she became a winner of the Saratoga Cup Grand Prix, in 1994, 1995, and 2000. Her career now focuses on training young jumpers born at Tatra Farm and developing riders and working students. This clinic concentrates on the skills needed to jump successfully both in the ring and over cross country obstacles. Classes are limited, so sign up early.  More Information

June 26  Lunch  Ride & Drive
Ride or drive along Tyrone Farm's wooded trails and open fields, then enjoy an old fashioned Luncheon under the tent. More Information

July 17 Cross Country Clinic with Athene von Hirschberg

Athene trained in South Africa with Mickey Louw, South African stadium jumping champion, for a number of years. She now operates the Connecticut Equestrian Center in Coventry. Athene enjoys working with students who want to jump, be it hunters, eventers, or just for fun. As an avid trail rider and versatility competitor, she encourages students to experience the world outside the arena. This clinic focuses on the skills needed to jump successfully over cross country obstacles. Classes are limited, so sign up early.  More Information

 
July 24  Brunch Ride & Drive
An early morning trail ride will be followed by a sumptuous country breakfast. It's a leisurely way to enjoy a summer day. Drivers welcome. Come for the ride or just enjoy the brunch in the beautiful setting of Tyrone Farm. More Information

August 21 Cross Country Clinic with Ann Bowie

Ann has been riding since the age of eight and instructing others for 30 years. She studied in England, where she earned her British Horse Society Intermediate Instructor (T) certificate. Her students have qualified for the American Eventing Championships for five of the past six years and many have qualified for the Area 1 Championships. This clinic focuses on the skills needed to jump successfully over cross country obstacles. Classes are limited, so sign up early.  More Information

September 11  Introduction to Foxhunting
Learn about hunting attire, rules of etiquette and what to expect in the hunt field with Tanheath Hunt Club. The day ends with a delicious "tea" and a discussion period with hunt members. Auditors are welcome. More Information

September 25 Cross Country Clinic with Ann Geoghegan
Ann has experience teaching beginners through advanced riders. Her specialty is developing a sensitive working relationship between horse and rider with emphasis on body language and position. She implements techniques and exercises that strenghten and balance both horse and rider and develop confidence. She has helped riders reach their goals in dressage, hunting, eventing, and most importantly in schooling their horses to be useful good citizens. This clinic focuses on the skills needed to jump successfully over cross country obstacles. Classes are limited, so sign up early.  More Information

October 9  26th Annual Pomfret Hunter Pace
The course includes almost 40 obstacles and attracts riders from all over New England. A barbequed chicken dinner is included with the entry fee.  More Information
